When you’re a kid growing up near the approach to an airport, airplanes become fascinating friends that suggest ideas of a freedom not yet known.

Scott Hume, a tousle-haired boy from Chewelah, Washington, was just such a kid. Although no one in his family encouraged it, the draw to aviation settled in his blood and has been there ever since.

Fast forward the decades and you’ll find Scott, now a father, grandfather, successful entrepreneur and impassioned pilot, busy running the business end of Command Aviation. As president and one of the three founding members of the company, Scott brings fifteen years of business acumen to the mix. His expertise with fiscal management puts Command Aviation securely at the center of the rapidly growing aviation industry in Whatcom County.

Scott has been with the company since its inception. His dedication to Command Aviation is matched only by his enthusiasm to enable others to experience the liberation and excitement that aviation offers.

“One of my most memorable experiences was renting a plane in Puerto Rico and flying around the Caribbean. It was absolutely spectacular…one of those extraordinary adventures that etches itself into your life and becomes part of who you are forever.”
